The massage therapy degree program provides hands-on training for students seeking work in the massage therapy field.
Students in our career-focused program are eligible to earn National Certification through the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam (MBLEx). This certification provides students a competitive edge for entry-level employment.
After earning an associate degree in massage therapy, students can compete for massage therapist positions in a variety of settings. These include, positions in orthopedics, physical therapy, and chiropractic offices as well as in nursing homes and naturopathic clinics.
Advanced positions include clinic management or senior level positions in their fields. Graduates can also establish their own independent massage therapy practices.
The massage therapy associate degree program includes core courses that expose students to the technical and business aspect of massage therapy. Courses include:
Other courses provide the opportunity to develop skills in Swedish and sports massage, spa techniques, and kinesiology
Each course stands alone as a unit of study and is not dependent upon prerequisite training. A student may enter the program at the beginning of any course and continue through the sequence until completion of all courses.
The supervised clinic is undertaken upon the successful completion of all classroom courses.
